A beautiful, picturesque estate in the Derbyshire countryside, Hardwick Hall is one of the finest houses you could wish to visit. But your four-legged friends are going to be more impressed with the surrounding estate.
The acres of surrounding countryside are perfect for pets with stunning parkland, woodland, wetland and farmland to explore. It is a working estate, so dogs must be kept on leads. Ideal in any season, you can sit out on the South Terrace and enjoy refreshment while water bowls can be found at the Visitor Centre and Gatehouse.
If you truly want to get away from it all then there’s no better place. Dovedale is a truly stunning National Nature Reserve with woodland, grassland and rivers to explore.
The intrepid can attempt to scale the heights of Thorpe Cloud, a huge limestone hill offering amazing views of the Peak District. The stepping stones over the river offer another challenge for walkers, though there’s also a bridge for something a little more sedate. This really is an open area of beautiful land and the perfect playground for pets!
Accessible to dogs in the off-season, from October to Easter, this fine beach offers soft sand and a stunning shoreline. It’s a perfect place for your pet to get their paws wet, and there are plenty of traditional seaside activities and attractions to please all ages.
