Trelissick Garden, nr Truro Cornwall

Trelissick Garden is a National Trust site, where you can explore 300 acres of Trelissick countryside or see what the gardens have to offer.
The gardens are made up of the main lawn, the Cornish orchard, and the tennis lawn. The main lawn is at the heart of the garden with sweeping views around the mixed exotic borders which are at their best in the summer months. The orchard is overlooked by a beautiful water tower, originally planted 20 years ago, the area is a hive for conservation. The tennis lawn is an open space with some incredible maritime views.

Peak District Riverside ramble – Calver to Froggatt Loop
How long it takes: About 1 hour 15 minutes
Distance: 2.5 miles (1.5 miles shorter one)
Nearest Landal Park: Landal Darwin Forest
This is an easy, level walk, the shortest in the supplement, along riverside paths by the River Derwent between Calver and the pretty village of Froggatt. The riverbank is well wooded and there are good views of Froggatt Edge, near the midway point of the walk.
From the Bridge Inn, head towards Froggatt, soon leaving the road behind to walk alongside the riverbank. On reaching Froggatt, cross the river by the 17th-century bridge.
Hindhope Linn – waterfall walk Kielder Forest

Hindhope Linn is a spectacular waterfall in a quiet, enchanting dell.
To access the trail, follow the forest road past Blakehopeburnhaugh Farm. Take the path overlooking Blakehope Burn and the magical waterfall. Other features of the walk are the areas of old Scots Pine and larch, living reminders of the ancient forest of the area
Monikie Country Park, Dundee

Developed around two former reservoirs, Monikie Country Park boasts beautiful woodland and parkland with a variety of things to see and do.
The reservoirs attract a large variety of water birds with the Great Crested Grebe a regular visitor. Also look out for Tree Creeper, Long-Tailed Tit, Woodpeckers, Tawny owls and Red Squirrels in the woodland area.
Please note that the pools are prone to blue-green algae which can be toxic to children and dogs. Make sure you keep your dogs out of the water in these areas.

The classic walk from Sutton Bank National Park Centre takes you to the famous turf-cut hillside landmark, the Kilburn White Horse.
The start of the walk involves crossing a busy main road. The route out and back along the escarpment edge follows a hard, compacted, level path, with no gates or stiles. The descent into the woods can be muddy and slippery when wet. You will need to keep your dog on a lead.
Oundle Heritage Trail, Northamptonshire

This walk will take you around the historic market town following the ‘Oundle Heritage Trail’ where you will visit various interesting points in the town which was first granted its market charter in 972.
Hubbard’s Hill through Louth
How long it takes: 1 hour 30 minutes
Distance: 3 miles

Hubbard’s Hills was donated to the town of Louth by the trustees of Auguste Alphonse Pahud, and opened to the public on 1 August 1907.
This area of natural beauty in Louth is a lovely place for an afternoon stroll. You can follow the waymarked Silver Lincs Way long-distance trail from the centre of the town to the park.
At the park you’ll find delightful woodland trails along the River Ludd which meanders through the park.
Occombe Woods, Paignton

A dedicated local nature reserve and ancient woodlands, the walk through Occombe Valley Woods includes pathways that are mostly gently sloping. This is a great place to take dogs, especially during hot summer days.
Parking is limited but you can start your walk at Occombe Farm which offers car parking, toilets and a café.
